We should change the terminology now without having to worry about backward compat. - Equivalent caches in MySQL (1) and Starrocks (2) are called "query cache". - The new name is ca. 13.8% more catchy. But, for this I have to change the handlers interface to accept configuration separatelly, since the configuration that contains in the server is the configuration with which server had been started. Robert Schulze	c16707ff00	chore: delete obsolete modelEvaluate() function + SYSTEM.MODELS view - The deleted function modelEvaluate() was superseded by catboostEvaluate(). - Also delete the external model repository, as modelEvaluate() was it's last user. Additionally remove the system view SYSTEM.MODELS for inspecting the repository. - SYSTEM RELOAD MODELS is also obsolete. HOWEVER, it was retained and made a no-op instead of deleted. Why? The reason is that RBAC in distributed setups works by storing privileges (granted and revoked) as plain SQL statements in Keeper. Nodes read these statements at startup and parse them. If a privilege for SYSTEM RELOAD MODELS exists but parser doesn't recognize it nodes would fail to come up. Considered but rejected alternatives: - Ignore SYSTEM RELOAD MODELS during parsing RBAC privileges and return an error for regular SYSTEM RELOAD MODELS SQL. Special-case of no-op behavior, too brittle. - Remove SYSTEM RELOAD MODELS manually from Keeper via command-line manipulation of Keeper nodes or via SQL by dropping the privileges. Consider the following example: - cluster_with_data, dev_user (readonly=2) - stage_cluster, dev_user (readonly=0) So when you will execute the following query from stage_cluster, it will be successfully executed, since ON CLUSTER queries has different system profile: DROP DATABASE default ON CLUSTER cluster_with_data This is not 100% safe, but at least something. Kevin Michel	ffc1fca296	Start/stop servers when listen_host/*_port changes This allows starting and stopping separately each protocol server without restarting ClickHouse. This also allows adding or removing `listen_host` entries, which start and stops servers for all enabled ports. When stopping a server, the listening socket is immediately closed (and available for another server). Protocols with persistent connections try to wait for any currently running query to finish before closing the connection, but idle connection are closed quickly (depending on how often the protocol is polled). An extra ProfileEvent is added, `MainConfigLoads`, it is incremented every time the configuration is reloaded. Azat Khuzhin	063f9cffab	Allow memory profiler under sanitizers Only query profiler cannot work reliably with sanitizers (due to unwinding from signal handler), but memory profiler should be fine. Plus sometimes the problem appears only on build with sanitizers, so it will be useful to have memory related profiling in trace_log. But recently, in 5.4, the default value had been increased even in linux kernel, to 4096 [1]. [1]: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=19f92a030ca6d772ab44b22ee6a01378a8cb32d4 Let's increase it in ClickHouse too. Also note, that I've looked through some instances with clickhouse-server only, and TcpExtListenOverflows was non zero (`nstat -za`), in other words backlog of the listen socket indeed overflowed there. So it is better to increase the default to move the problem to clickhouse-server itself (yes you will unlikely have 4K new incomming connections at one time, with accept thread do not accept them all, but still seems that it is possible, maybe due to some locks or something else).	2021-10-01 21:03:59 +03:00

Benjamin Naecker	c3506bf16d	Adds a better way to include binary resources - Uses a small assembly file to include binary resources, rather than objcopy - Updates `base/common/getResource.cpp` for this new method of inclusion - Removes linux-only guards in CMake files, as this solution is cross-platform. The resulting binary resources are available in the ClickHouse server binary on Linux, macOS, and illumos platforms. FreeBSD has not been tested, but will likely work as well.	2021-06-09 14:03:30 -07:00

Amos Bird	264cff6415	Projections TODO (suggested by Nikolai) 1. Build query plan fro current query (inside storage::read) up to WithMergableState 2. Check, that plan is simple enough: Aggregating - Expression - Filter - ReadFromStorage (or simplier) 3. Check, that filter is the same as filter in projection, and also expression calculates the same aggregation keys as in projection 4. Return WithMergableState if projection applies 3 will be easier to do with ActionsDAG, cause it sees all functions, and dependencies are direct (but it is possible with ExpressionActions also) Also need to figure out how prewhere works for projections, and row_filter_policies. wip	2021-05-11 18:12:23 +08:00
